Today my GSD Walker went onto her reward as they say in church.
She was 12 years old and suffering from a range of ailments and
in the end, could hardly keep herself upright. I had her since she was a
puppy and no man could ask for a more faithful companion or
dedicated creature. During my Katrina portfolio work I credit her
with protecting me from muggings or worse on at least two occasions and
although she was a genteel a dog as they come. Even in her last week,
hardly able to stand she knew "her job" and kept watch over the
grandchildren while they played in the front yard ever vigilant to
the dangers of the world she understood. Best dog I ever knew...
